Dr. Donato Antonio Raele holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Teramo, earned in 2003. He pursued further specialization in veterinary infectious diseases, completing a three-year program in “Infectious Diseases, Prophylaxis, and Veterinary Police” at the University of Bari in 2013. He also holds two postgraduate qualifications: a Master’s in “Veterinary Interventions in Emergencies” from the University of Bari, completed in 2005, and a Master’s in “Animal-Assisted Interventions” from ASLFG, obtained in 2021.

Dr. Raele is a Veterinary Manager at the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Puglia and Basilicata (IZSPB), currently serving in the General and Special Virological Diagnostics department at the IZSPB branch in Foggia. Over his career, he has held roles such as Veterinary Manager for Area C of the Local Health Authority and as a Vet Researcher at IZSPB. Dr. Raele’s extensive professional experience spans a broad range of veterinary management and research responsibilities, particularly in the field of virological diagnostics and infectious diseases. He has led numerous research projects funded by the Ministry of Health, including his role as the Scientific Head for various IZSPB projects (RC IZSPB 06/22, RC IZSPB 01/21) and project manager. His research has contributed to important advancements in understanding arboviruses and vector-borne diseases, as well as their impacts on human, animal, and environmental health.
